♥ ♥ ♥ LIVE NEAR THE OCEAN? ♥ ♥ ♥ How To Harvest & Dry Your Own Seaweed Tutorial Video

17:44
http://liverflushing.com How to harvest & dry your own seaweed instructional training tutorial video. Seaweed is a healthy source of vitamins & minerals. Seaweeds can provide all 72 known trace minerals, natural sea salt, electrolytes & cellular hydration. Seaweeds can expel dangerous heavy metals such as lead & mercury from the body. Eating bottom fish feeders & amalgam fillings can cause heavy metal buildup in the blood stream, Seaweeds can also rid the body of excess fluoride, chloride & bromide from tap water. Fluoride tends to build up in the endocrine system, specially the thyroid & pineal gland. The pineal gland (seat of the mind) is closely connected to the pituitary gland (seat of illumination), these two glands are the physical manifestation of the 6th and 7th chakra. Fluoride buildup in the pineal gland can decrease the production & secretion of serotonin, melatonin & tryptophan important hormones for healthy brain function and third eye activation. Seaweed contain a natural source of iodine one of the minerals that help pull fluoride, chloride & bromide out of the endocrine system as well as heavy metals such as lead and mercury. KELP - is the highest source of natural iodine than any other plant or sea vegetable on this planet. 1 tbsp of kelp provides approximately 2000 mg iodine Here are some other foods that help pull toxins and heavy metals from the body. 1) Chlorophyll 2) Chlorella 3) Spirulina (Blue Green Algae) 4) Phytoplankton 5) Iriss Moss 6) Cranberries 7) Strawberries 8) Himalayan Crystal Sea Salt 9) Celtic Sea Salt 10) Dead Sea Salt 11) Atlantic Sea Salt 12) All Raw Fruits & Vegetables Have Trace Amounts Of Natural Iodine INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Go to a clean beach & harvest fresh kelp living in the ocean. 2) Bring them home & put them in your bathtub with cold or luke warm water. 3) Grate off the skin with a kitchen grater. 4) Slice them down the center with a sharp knife. 5) Slice each half down the center. 6) Slice each half of the half down the center until you have 8 lengths of kelp. 7) Wash these lengths in clean water. 8) Hang them up to dry at room temperature. Depending on the moisture & temperature of the air of where you are drying them will determine how long it will take for them to cure. These kelp sticks are tasty & make excellent healthy snacks that provide vitamins, minerals, electrolytes & hydration for your body & cells. Sincerely, Jordan Blaikie | Liver Flush Man

Kelp Seaweed, A Concentrated Source of Dietary Minerals

25:06
Kelps are highly nutritious edible seaweed varieties, containing a wide range of concentrated phytonutrients, including polysaccharides and mineral content, particularly iodine. Kelp is a general term used to describe a broad range of over 300 species of brown marine algae that grow wild in shallow open ocean waters all over the world. Kelps are particularly known for their efficient ability to absorb and condense a high amount of minerals and other micronutrients from seawater into their multicellular, thick leaf-like blades. Powders and whole seaweeds are nutritionally fortifying to the diet and can also be consumed in capsule form. SOUNDBITE: (English and Tagalog) Hadji Adam Omar, Seaweed Trader: "The production in the Philippines, 80-percent of the production (it) comes from western Mindanao, so for more than 20 years a lot of the native people here have learned how to grow seaweeds and it has been a big help to the livelihood of the people here in western Mindanao." 16. Farmers drying seaweed 17. Worker spreading out seaweed to dry in the sun 18. Worker using a fishing net to gather together the seaweeds 19. SOUNDBITE: (English and Tagalog) Hadji Adam Omar, Seaweed Trader: "For Eucheuma Cottonii seaweed, way back to two or three years ago 80 percent of the world's supply of seaweeds comes from the Philippines. And in the Philippines, (which is composed of the main islands of) Luzon Visayas and Mindanao, 80-percent comes from western Mindanao." 20. Cutaway to Hadji Omar talking with wife Saeeda Omar 21. SOUNDBITE: (English and Tagalog) Saeeda Omar, Seaweed Farm Owner: "Those who come from the mountains, who don't want to be part of the war anymore, they are the first ones who want to have a livelihood. So this is the first thing that they know because usually those involved here are the non-skilled." 22. Wide shot family 23. Close up of seaweed then pan up to woman tying strings to seaweed seedlings 24. UPSOUND: (Tausug) Esnihya Idbong, seaweed farm worker - "We came here (from Basilan island) to start seaweed farming here (in Zamboanga)." 25. SOUNDBITE: (English and Tagalog) Saeeda Omar, Seaweed Farm Owner: "Of all the places, western Mindanao is truly gifted with the right conditions. There are few places here where you cannot grow Agar-agar (seaweed) because this is not frequently visited by typhoons." 26. Various seaweed farmers working in their seaweed farms in the sea STORYLINE: For many people, seaweed is just an ordinary seaplant that grows in the ocean. But for many families in the southern Philippines, growing seaweed is their main source of livelihood - and a way out of poverty, and the armed conflicts that have beset their provinces. More than 80-thousand families here depend on the seaweed industry, many coming from depressed sectors of the Muslim minority. And with fighting between Abu Sayyaf guerrillas - whom the United States has linked to Osama bin Laden and his al-Qaida network - and the Philippine army, more displaced people arriving in Zamboanga are turning to seaweed farming to make a living. Seaweed is a major contributor to the country's economy, and about a quarter of the world's supply comes from the Philippines. It is the main ingredient of Carrageenan, which is used in a variety of products such as processed meat and cheese, as well as non-food items such as toothpaste and shampoo. Eighty percent of the country's seaweed production comes from western Mindanao which is made up of Zamboanga, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-tawi provinces. I tried it with a paper making deckle with limited success.

Kelp Fertilizers and Soil Amendments in Organic Gardening

07:33
If you’re an organic gardener you have probably seen and used kelp products. They come in a variety of forms from liquid fertilizers to dried kelp meal and powders. So with all of these products out there what benefit do they bring to your garden and are they worth it? Lets start with taking a look at what benefits Kelp brings to the garden table. Nitrogen Phosphorus and Potassium are some of the macro nutrients required for plant growth and because they are used in such high quantities are often the nutrients that get depleted in the soil the fastest. The highest reported Kelp product NPK was Kelp powder. The Colorado State Extensions website reports the NPK at 1 – 0 – 4. [5] A variety of sources state the NPK of the other product as negligible. Often kelp products are mixed with fish products to give them an NPK. With a low or negligible NPK let’s take a look at the trace elements in Kelp products. There are generally speaking 18 elements in the soil that are considered to be essential or beneficial to plant growth.[8] The presence or absence of these elements will impact the overall plant growth and production. Of these 18 elements it is common to test for all but Chlorine and Silicon as they are well distributed on earth. Many species have been used for agricultural purposes as to add essential and beneficial elements. One such species of Kelp was analyzed for trace elements Stoechospermum marginatum. The results are in mg/L and included Copper, Manganese, Zinc, Iron, Potassium, Magnesium, Cobalt, and Sodium. [2] These account for 8 of the 16 essential and beneficial elements required for plant growth that are commonly tested for. Kelp is commonly marketed not only to add elements to the soil but as having plant growth hormones. Plant growth hormone can have a number of benefits to vigor and growth in your garden. Most notably is its ability to stimulate root growth. [6] Larger root systems anecdotally result in healthier plants that can resist disease and stress better while producing larger harvests. Kelp has been found to have high concentrations of plant growth hormone [2]. The hormones found in kelp extracts have been shown to have varying success in aiding the establishment of seedlings and any net gain is lost in the first 5-10 weeks of growth. [6] Over application of the concentrated hormones was also shown to have a net negative effect on seedlings growth. Kelp products seem to bring some benefit for our gardens. Right? Well I am not sold on the idea of using kelp products in my garden. Let me explain why. The two main benefits kelp brings to the garden is essential and beneficial elements and plant growth hormones. Over the last few weeks we have evaluated a number of free and local resources. Specifically fall leaves and comfrey. Both have been shown to have essential and beneficial elements. Fall leaves have 11/16 essential and beneficial elements while comfrey has 15/16. The one element that is missing form all three materials is selenium. As selenium is an essential part of at least 3 amino acids one can assume it is in any soils that have been amended with compost and it is simply below the tests detection limit.[9] So not only does comfrey have a good NPK in this case fall leaves and comfrey have more trace elements then Kelp does. So what about those plant hormones ? Earth worms and composting worms provide a number of benefits in your garden. They break down organic material releasing nutrients, beneficial bacteria and plant growth hormones. These rich castings can be made in worm farms or directly in the garden by letting them break down your mulch layer made of things like fall leaves and comfrey among others. A research paper published in the European Journal of Soil Biology found the same plant growth hormones found in the kelp extracts were also found associated with the humic acid in vermicomposts.[7] So once again a free and local resource has a source of plant growth hormones. How to Make Roasted Seasoned Dried Seaweed (Gheem Gui / 김구이)

04:29
Stop buying all the pre-packaged seaweed and make your own at home! Ingredients: Unseasoned sheets of laver (dried seaweed) Sesame seed oil Fine sea salt Start with MEDIUM-LOW heat on an electric stove OR LOW heat on a gas stove. Holding one corner of the sheet, quickly graze the laver over the heat source until roasted or until it starts to crinkle. Repeat for as many sheets as desired. Place the roasted seaweed aside on a plate. Reserve a couple of tablespoons of sesame seed oil in a small bowl. With your fingers, apply a light coat of oil on each sheet of roasted seaweed. Sprinkle a light layer of salt. Repeat for the remaining sheets. With a pair of kitchen shears, cut the sheets into quarters. Store the seaweed in a Ziploc storage bag. It should keep for a few days. Healthy Tip: Vlog, Roasting Dry Seaweed to make powder for Healthy Salt Substitute by Omma's Home

01:44
Hi everyone, I wanted to share how I use dry seaweed to make a salt substitute. I use this powder in lots of vegan recipe to add in sea flavor like anchovy. Enjoy the recipe! Recipe for my homemade no salt season salt: Combine it with roasted seaweed powder, roasted Dried shitake mushroom powder, garlic powder, green onion powder, onion powder, hint of ginger powder and ground black or white pepper powder. Seaweed powder should be 50 to 75 percent and the other ingredients are 25 to 50 percent. I'm adding other vegetable powders to enhance the flavor. This powder also works as a thickener for stew or soup so it's a perfect for vegans to know about not to mention how good the seaweed is for you. :)

Let's make seaweed soup (미역국)!

02:57
Actually, my birthday was 22nd of Feb. Yeah, it already passed. I took this video one day before my bday and my fiancee made the soup for me and I handle the camera. Seaweed soup is easy to make but the only hard thing is waiting for it to cook. You may have to wait more than 20mins and it should be better if you add some salt. Our soup tasted quite plain. :) But it was made with love. hehehehe I am sorry. Thanks for watching.

Irish Moss Seaweed, A Nutritious Thickening Agent

16:41
Irish moss (Chondrus crispus or gracilaria) is not actually a "moss" but a type of seaweed that has been used for centuries in Ireland as a healing sea vegetable used in soup broths to fortify and strengthen malnourished individuals. It is a natural source of various nutrients and polysaccharides, like carrageenan, known for its usefulness as a nutritious thickening agent. There is a big difference however between "food grade" carrageenan extract and the naturally dried irish moss. The whole soaked gracilaria variety is commonly used today as a blended gel that can be added to a variety of drinks, desserts and condiments. It can be added to many different types of recipes, such as soup, salad or sushi recipes. It contains unique compounds that can help to promote our health many different ways. Before consuming seaweed, discuss with your medical practitioner to make sure it is right for you and for correct dosages. Now, lets discuss some of the incredible health benefits of consuming seaweed regularly. 1. First, as mentioned previously, seaweed contains many different vitamins, minerals and other important nutrients. Specifically, it is a great source of manganese, iron, thiamin, folate, copper and riboflavin among many others. It is also quite low in calories, contains some protein and is a good source of dietary fibre. Seaweed also contains many protective antioxidants, such as carotenoids and flavonoids. 2. Seaweed can also help to support thyroid function. This is important since our thyroid helps to repair damaged cells in the body, control growth and produce energy. Seaweed contains good amounts of iodine, which the thyroid uses to make hormones. This can help to reduce symptoms of fatigue and weight fluctuation. As well, seaweed contains an important amino acid known as tyrosine, which works with iodine in the production of key hormones and promote proper thyroid function. 3. Consuming seaweed regularly can also help to support overall gut health and roper digestion. This is often attributed to the good levels of fibre found in it, which is known to promote gut health. Seaweed also contains unique polysaccharide compounds that can help to support and increase the growth of good bacteria in the gut. This can help with digestion and increase nutrient uptake from the healthy foods we eat. 4. It is also a great source of antioxidant compounds which can help to reduce inflammation and prevent certain diseases. Seaweed contains antioxidants such as vitamin A, E and C. It also contains important plant compounds such as flavonoids and carotenoids. This includes a unique and potent carotenoid compounds known as flucoxanthin, which has strong antioxidant benefits. 5. Lastly, consuming seaweed regularly can help to promote weight loss and proper weight management. This is often attributed to its good levels of fibre and low calorie content. The fibre found in seaweed can help us to feel full longer, promote satiety and prevent snacking. Studies have shown that seaweed may also have anti-obesity effects due to its unique plant compounds. Make Your Own Seaweed Fertilizer

06:02
I make my own seaweed fertilizer. Before harvesting seaweed, make sure you check your local laws. Some places it is illegal, some place you can only harvest a certain amount, and some places you need a license to harvest. Make sure you follow all laws regarding the collection of seaweed. I fill my bucket about half way with seaweed. Then I fill it the rest of the way with water. I cover loosely and let it sit for about a week. I then pour off the water and use it on my plants. I like to give them about 1 cup every week of seaweed tea. When the water is gone from the bucket, I fill it again and start the process over. I do this all simmer long. In the fall, I throw what is left into the compost. One bucket full is enough seaweed tea for about 10-15 large plants.
